We believe it’s never too early—or too late—to connect with culture through dance. Join the class that’s right for your age group and skill level, and grow with us as part of the Xochipilli family.

Class Schedule

06:30 PM – 07:30 PM

Kids Group (Ages 3 to 7*)

Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays. Open to children ages 3 to 7, this group is all about building confidence, coordination, and cultural pride through movement, music, and imagination. It’s the perfect first step into the colorful world of ballet folklórico! *Please have children potty trained prior to joining.
06:00 PM – 07:30 PM

Juniors Group (Ages 8 to 12)

Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays. Designed for dancers ready to take their folklórico journey to the next level, our Juniors class blends fun with focus. Open to ages 8 to 12, this group builds strong technique, stage presence, and a deeper understanding of regional styles—all while celebrating the joy of Mexican culture through dance.
08:00 PM– 9:30 PM

Adult Group (Ages 13 & Up)

Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays. Whether you're stepping into folklórico for the first time or returning with years of experience, our Adult class welcomes dancers of all levels—from beginners to seasoned performers. Open to ages 13 and up, this class focuses on technique, choreography, and cultural expression in an encouraging, community-driven environment.

The following FAQ’s refer to IN-PERSON classes.

If you are interested in joining Ballet Folklorico Xochipilli of OKC (BFXOKC), contact us through e-mail, the Contact Us form on our website, or join us for practice!

You are welcomed to join us for practice for a class (free of commitment) to see if BFXOKC is right for you.  However, please keep in mind that only members who have paid their membership fees and who have submitted their membership forms will be allowed to perform.

  • Kids & Juniors Group:
    $40/month
    Add a sibling for just $20/month.
  • Adults Class:
    $50/month
    Add a sibling for just $25/month.

Class lengths vary slightly by group:

  • Kids Group:
    1 hour
    Mondays & Wednesdays — 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM
  • Juniors Group:
    1.5 hours
    Tuesdays & Thursdays — 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
  • Adults Group:
    1.5 hours
    Tuesdays & Thursdays — 8:00 PM to 9:30 PM

Each session is designed to maximize fun, focus, and skill development. Come dance with us!

 

For the first day, all students may wear comfortable workout clothes while you get the proper attire.

Once ready, here’s what dancers should wear:

Girls:

  • Top: Black shirt or comfortable-fitting dance top
  • Bottom: Black tights, shorts, sweatpants, dance pants, or jazz pants
  • Skirt: Xochipilli practice skirt (required)
  • Hair: Pulled back into a neat Folklórico-style bun with a Tocado pinned securely
  • Footwear: Folklórico shoes or Adelita boots

Boys (All Ages):

  • Top: Solid black t-shirt
  • Bottom: Black dance pants, sweatpants, or shorts
  • Footwear: Folklórico boots
  • Note: No jeans for boys or girls

No previous experience (with folklórico or other styles of dance) required!  We will teach you the basics.

We provide wardrobe options for our adults class to ensure that our performers look and feel their best on stage.
